About Us
The Owensboro Community Band was founded in 2003 as an all-volunteer group. The concert band currently consists of amateur and professional musicians from all walks of life who range in age from early 20’s to retirees.
We play a wide range of music including Pop/Rock, Folk Songs, Sacred, Country, Broadway, Patriotic, TV/Movie Themes and more. It is hoped that as we play, we will convey our love of music, community spirit and provide enjoyment for the listener.
We traditionally play Christmas Concerts both at an area venue and at the Museum of the Science and History for its Annual Celebration. Memorial Day concerts are presented each year at Owensboro Memorial Gardens and the Sports Center. Over the years, the band has played concerts at venues such as: the Joe Ford Nature Center, Music in the Park, Wendell Foster, Holiday Stroll, Kentucky Wesleyan College, various churches, nursing homes and retirement centers.
